John A. Cherry

Cherry, John A. of Hingham, formerly of South Boston, died June 10, 2013.

Beloved husband and best friend of Eleanor M. (Fisher). Loving father of Marie A. Roche and her husband, Francis, Jackie T. Cherry and his wife, Theresa, all of South Boston, Paul J. Cherry and his wife, Joanne, of Virginia Beach, Nancy A. Fitzgerald and her partner, Rick Brazina, of Hull, Joanne M. Doyle of Attleboro, and Nora V. Flynn and her husband, Alan, of Quincy. Brother of the late Evelyn Spillaine, Dottie Moore, William and Edward Cherry. Gramps to Terrence, Tommy, Tara, Jill, Marykate, Jonathan, David, Emily, Olivia, Gary, Lynne, Katie, Donovan, Siobhan, Nolan and the late Timmy Roche. Also survived by 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Dear friend of Peggy and Larry Hacket and Leslie and Paul Regan.

Until his retirement in 1988, John worked for Boston Edison as a lineman. He was also a World War II veteran serving with United States Army Air Force.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Cremation will follow.
