Joel A. Yungton

Yungton, Joel A. of Hingham, was called home to heaven September 6, 2017, at the age of 49, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Joel grew up in Detroit, MI where he lived until he graduated from Oakland University.  In 1995, he married his wife, Sabina, in Tucson, AZ.  Together they moved to Boston and grew to love life in New England.  Joel adored his family, especially his wife and daughter. He regularly attended Park Street Church as his faith was very important to him.  He enjoyed playing tennis and had been a member of the Hingham Tennis Club. He also liked rooting for his Detroit Red Wings hockey team. Joel was a loved colleague at Columbia Threadneedle Investments where he worked for many years. He had a great sense of humor and was a very friendly and likable man. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Beloved husband of Sabina Yungton of Hingham. Adoring father of Cosette Yungton of Hingham.  Devoted son of Alvin and Wanda Yungton of Bloomfield Hills, MI.  Cherished brother of Cindy Frohriep and her husband Todd of Farmington Hills, MI and Patty Hipsley and her husband Dale of Cincinnati, OH. Loving uncle of Nathaniel and Ella Hipsley of Cincinnati, OH.

A memorial service will be held at Park Street Church, Boston on Tuesday Sept. 12, at 1:00pm and a graveside service Wednesday Sept. 13 at 11 AM in Hingham Cemetery, Hingham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ravi Zacharias International Ministries, 3755 Mansell Road, Alpharetta GA 30022.
