Joanne Therese Meuse

Joanne Therese Meuse of Medford passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Thursday, May 6.

Born in Boston and raised in Jamaica Plain by the late George W. and Eleanor R. Meuse.

Joanne loved animals, whether she was riding horses or raising dogs and cats, she surrounded herself with them.  She had fond memories of summers at Parkwood Beach with her friends and cousins. She was a strong, independent, ray of sunshine to those who had the opportunity to get to know her. When she laughed, it was contagious.

She is survived by her siblings, Elaine Doyle and her husband James of Charleston, SC, Melanie Meuse-Warg and her husband Mark of Mabelvale, AR, Duane Meuse and his fiancé Betty O’Neill of Marshfield, and Kelly Fleming and her husband Edward of Quincy. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.  Joanne is also survived by her loyal cat, Beau.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to meet the family for a graveside service at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury on Friday, May 21.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joanne may be made to MSPCA, Attn: Donation, 350 S. Huntington Ave., Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.  For those who cannot gather together with Joanne’s family at this time, friends may still offer their support by sharing a special memory or message by clicking the link above.
