Joanne H. (Higgins) Cole, of North Weymouth, formerly of Carver, died peacefully on May 26, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. She was 65.

Joanne worked for South Shore Hospital for over 30 years where she was blessed with many friends. Family was the foundation of her happiness and she was unconditional in her love and optimism. There was a strength in Joanne’s kindness and empathy that endeared her to family, friends and strangers. She will be deeply missed.

Beloved wife of 46 years to Robert G. Cole of North Weymouth. Devoted mother of J. Nathan and his wife Kristen of Dover, Matthew and his wife Megan of Norwell and Joshua of North Weymouth. Cherished Mimi of Elin, Sailer, Grace and Amelia. Predeceased by her parents, Robert P. and Marie Higgins (Jones) of East Weymouth and by her Big Dave. Loving sister of Patricia and Kenneth Gagnon of Westborough, Thomas Higgins and Anne Mcgregor of Alexandria, VA, Marylou Silverman and Paula Melanson of Bedford, Helen and Henry Pong of Lake Worth, FL, Robert and Linda Higgins of East Weymouth, Kathleen and Al Smith of Braintree, Edward and Irma Higgins of Ripton, VT, and Nancy and the late John O’Shaughnessy of Norwell. Sister-in-law of the late John J. Cole of North Weymouth, Richard and Arlene Cole of North Weymouth, and Mary and Michael Brennan of North Weymouth, and her former sister-in-law Christine Bombace of Punta Gorda, FL. Also lovingly survived by 31 nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, East Weymouth on Monday at 10:30 AM. See www.Keohane.com for directions and online condolences.
