Joan Christine (Bland) Tucci of Cape Cod, passed away peacefully in Weymouth on September 20th, 2024. She was 88. Joan is survived by her husband Donald Tucci of Weymouth. They were married for 67 years. She is survived by her children; Rosalie & her husband Oded Peri, Marie & her husband Charlie Nagle, Paul Tucci, and Carl Tucci.
Joan is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Adam Constantilos, Amanda Constantilos, Nicholas Constantilos, Matthew Tucci, Matisse Newton, Cameron Newton & Elizabeth Tucci. Her great grandchildren Mackenzie Stone, Jordan Stone and Parker Constantilos.
Joan grew up in Weymouth. Her childhood friend remembers her walking to school, followed by her dog Buster. Buster would wait for her until she was out of school.
Joan was the devoted daughter of Christine Bland. In an age when divorce was quite rare, Joan & her mom were especially close, as were her children.
She spent summers in Maine babysitting, learning to swim and caring for children in her quiet and loving way. Joan was a devoted wife and mother, a loyal friend, great listener, and very social. She was on the dance committee for the elks for years. Other unique qualities of Joan were she was a tax preparer, loved reading, talented in sewing and cake decorating. Cooking was a huge social event for Joan and so much enjoyed hosting her family and friends, whether in Weymouth or on the Cape.
She was an avid letter writer, especially during covid, back and forth often with one of granddaughters who lived out of state. She loved word games. Sports was really her passion, she loved all Boston sports! Joan also loved living on the Cape, she spent half her life on the Cape which she enjoyed thoroughly. Foxwoods was another place Joan was fond of, she so enjoyed being very social at this venue!
When I asked my dad for his opinion he said ”She was my inspiration and he misses her so much. It seems empty without her. Beautiful wife.”
