Joan enjoyed trips w family to Laconia, NH, Aruba, Florida and, when well enough, every Saturday to Twin Rivers with her sister, Carole. An avid Boston Celtics fan, she rarely missed a televised game and was always wearing her favorite Celtics shirt for luck while watching. She had a special place in her heart for horses and dogs, especially her Yorkie, Tarzan and a cat that she recently saved from the cold, hunger and predators and quickly fell in love with, telling her, "What a good girl you are".

Most of all, Joan was devoted to her late husband, Ned. She loved him with all of her heart.

Joan was also an avid reader, her favorite being mystery novels. She would borrow six books at a time from the public library.

She was the daughter of the late Vivian C. (Hutchinson) and Edward A. Jurevitch. Loving sister of Linda E. King of Palm Bay, FL., Carole M. Jamieson of Weymouth, Vivian C. Butts of Milton, Edward A. Jurevitch Jr. of Quincy and Ruth A. O'Donnell of Abington who passed five days before Joan's passing. Stepmother of Richard Thureson, Nils Thureson III, David Thureson, Theresa Walters, Jon Eric Thureson, Andrew Thureson and Karyn Viana. Aunt of Roger King, Adam Jurewicz, Karen Brunelle, George Jamieson, Jr., Eric Jamieson, David Butts, Christine Vardaro, Stacy Sherlock, Kimberly Jurevitch, Jessica O'Donnell, Merry King and the late Jeffrey King.
