Joan Patricia Oxner

Oxner, Joan Patricia (Moran)  of N. Falmouth, formerly of Quincy, died June 17, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of the late Merrill C. Oxner. Loving mother of Paul C. Oxner and his wife, Lorraine, of Marshfield, Anne Marie Oxner-Dixon and her husband, Bill, of Duxbury, Susan P. Kruse and her husband, Bob, of Sagamore Beach, and David M. Oxner, MSP and his wife, Mary, of Pembroke. Cherished grandmother of Kyle, William, Kirstyn, David, Stephen, and Olivia. Sister of Frances Dolan of Ireland, Gertie Keany of Ireland, Gabrielle Buchanan of Sydney Australia, Desmond Moran of Ireland, Peter Moran of Bourne, Michael Moran of Weymouth and the late Maureen Moran, Kathleen Prior, John Moran, and Pauline Breslin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Born in Ballintogher, Co. Sligo, Ireland, Joan had lived in Quincy for 25 years raising her family before moving to North Falmouth in 1994. She was very proud of her Irish Heritage and was the first of 11 children to move from Ireland to the United States in 1950. Joan had worked for many years as a LPN at both Saint Margaret’s Hospital and Carney Hospital. Over the years, she enjoyed many memorable trips back to Ireland to spend time with family and friends. She will be missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her especially her beloved grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial will be in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.
