Joan MacLeod, a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on November 24 2024, at the age of 88, born in Boston on October 18, 1936, and raised in Cohasset.
She leaves behind her Husband Keith MacLeod of Weymouth; her children Debby Davidson and Frank of Abington, Jan MacLeod and Joe Tevis of Weymouth, Keith MacLeod Jr of Kingston, and Cindy Kelly and Peter of Hanover; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and a legacy of love and faith that will live on in all who knew her.
Throughout her life, Joan was known for her loving nature and artistic skills. Her creativity shone through in her passion for sewing and crafts, where she used her talent to create beautiful art and oil paintings. Her creations not only adorned homes but also brought joy to many who visited the Weymouth Farmers Market over the years, where she proudly displayed her work. Joan’s talent allowed her to turn her craft earnings into treasured gifts for her grandchildren, whom she delighted in spoiling and took pride in watching her family grow across generations. Joan spent her winters in Florida, a true “snowbird”, where she shared her time and talents as a dedicated volunteer with hospice groups. A practitioner of Reiki, Joan utilized her skills to bring comfort and healing to those on hospice. In addition to her compassionate work in Florida, Joan found joy collecting shells on the beaches, which she would lovingly transform into beautiful crafts.
As a loving wife of 71 years to her devoted husband, Keith, Joan exemplified the beauty of partnership and companionship. Their enduring love story was a testament to commitment and togetherness, serving as an inspiring model for their children and grandchildren. Throughout their long marriage, they created a nurturing home filled with warmth, laughter, and the unwavering support that defined their relationship.
