Joan M. Mccarthy

McCarthy, Joan M. (Gorman) of Marshfield, formerly of Quincy, passed away June 27, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Loving mother of Patti Picco and her husband, Tim, and Maureen Joyce and her husband, Daniel all of Marshfield, Michael McCarthy and his wife, Ellen of Hanover, and the late Carol Ann McCarthy, her precious daughter, whom she has greatly missed. Sister of Virginia Normandin of Weymouth, Ann Mulcahy of Mashpee, Edward Gorman of New Hampshire and the late Janice Gorman. Cherished Nana Joanie to Abby, Michael, Olivia, Samuel, Jenna, Steven, Danielle, Jillian, Colin, and Carly. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and her many dear friends at Proprietors Green in Marshfield. Until her retirement, Joan had worked for over thirty years at Venus Wafers, Inc in Hingham and considered the Barmakian Family an extension of her own. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 8:45 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney Street, Boston, MA 02114.
