Joan M. Leavitt

Joan M. (Buresh) Leavitt, of Weymouth, died at Seasons Hospice in Milton on Monday, August 15, 2016. She was 81.

Born in Boston, Joan was raised in South Boston where she graduated from the Nazareth High School. She worked for over 30 years as a receptionist with WGBH in Boston.

She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald J. Leavitt, Sr., the loving mother of Ronald J., Jr. and William E. Leavitt both of Weymouth and the sister of Rose Powers of Westwood. Joan is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 3-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
