Joan M. Jaehnig

Jaehnig, Joan M. (Conlan) of Quincy, died July 13, 2017, in her own home, surrounded by her loving family.

Joan’s life centered around her loving family, deep faith, and strong sense of community.  She and her late husband Charlie raised seven active boys in a community they loved.  She cherished the vacation time spent at Camp Wulamat, Newfound Lake, NH.  A 52 year parishioner at St. Joseph’s Church; Joan was a Eucharistic Minister, Prefect of the Ladies Sodality and longtime volunteer at the annual Christmas Bazaar.  She faithfully attended Mass right up until the end of her life.  Joan was a member of the Red Hat Society, had a passion for cooking, and won many baking awards.  Joan and her late husband Charlie have attended countless sporting events, recitals, and activities for their children and grandchildren, something they have enjoyed their entire lives. Joan was a secretary, prior to her marriage, for Worcester, Inc., an architectural firm, as well as assisting her son Mark in his Chiropractic practice for over 20 years.  She was a graduate of both St. Gregory’s School in Dorchester and Boston Clerical School.  A devout Catholic, Joan always remembered and prayed for her three children; Christopher, Robert, and Denise, who died at child birth.  She will be remembered for her strength, friendly face, loving disposition, and strong faith.

Beloved wife of the late Charles D. Jaehnig, Sr.  Loving mother of Mark C. and his wife Christine of Quincy, Stephen F. of Hull, Michael G. and his wife Liz of Braintree, James E. and his wife Patti-Ann of Quincy, Charles D., Jr. and his wife Andrée of Quincy, Dan J. and his wife Jane of Quincy, and the late William D. Jaehnig.  Sister of Mary Keeley of Dorchester, and the late John, Patricia, and Paul Conlan.  Cherished grandmother of Patrick, David, Matthew, Andrew,  Jennifer, Ryan, Samantha, Robert, Jillian, Thomas, Christopher, Emma, and Caroline.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
