Joan E. (Brown) Joseph

Joan E. (Brown) Joseph, of Norwood, formerly of South Boston, died peacefully on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at The Ellis Nursing and Rehabilitation in Norwood. She was 87.

Joan was born in Boston in 1937, and was the daughter of the late George and Agnes (O’Hare) Brown. She was raised in Brighton, attended local schools and graduated from St. Columbkille High School. Joan worked in healthcare and was loved by her colleagues and clients alike.

Joan was the loving life-long partner of Richard G. Smith of South Boston, devoted mother of Donna Joseph of Quincy, Elaine Myers and her late husband John of Quincy, and Michael Joseph of Dedham. She was the loving grandmother of Melissa Myers of Quincy and Heidi Joseph and her husband Daniel of Berlin, Germany. Joan was the loving great grandmother of Liam and Joshua of the USA and Germany. Joan was the dear sister of the late Elaine Ignico and the late Dorothy Olsen. Joan is also survived by her wonderful nieces whom she loved and predeceased by her wonderful nephew David, whom she adored. Joan also loved her extended family of Jillian Smith of Dorchester, Ryan Smith of Milton, Aiden Smith and his fiancée Grace LeBlanc of Canton, Richard Smith and his wife Patricia of Milton, Sandra Smith-Robbins and her husband Brian of Raynham, and the late Stephen Smith and his surviving wife Kathleen and her children of South Carolina.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday, October 14, 2024, 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.

Her funeral service will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024, at 7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.

A gathering will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, in the Keohane Funeral Home at 10 AM, followed by a graveside service at Fairview Cemetery, 45 Fairview Ave., Boston at 11 AM.

Flowers are welcome, or In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Joan's name to the charitable organization or one's choice.
