Delmonico, Joan E. of Hull, passed away peacefully November 5, 2011. Beloved wife of 61 years to Richard P. Delmonico. Loving mother of Janet E. Delmonico, Richard P. Delmonico, Jr and his wife Mary all of Hull, Ronald J. Delmonico and his wife, Susan of Whitman, and Joanne M. Hughes and her husband, Michael of Hull. Sister of Dorothy Hersch of Hull, Bobby Philpin of Boston, and John Philpin of Vermont. Joan was born in Hull and had been a lifelong resident. She was a Bank manager for many years at Edward Everett Federal Savings and also at First American Bank In Hingham. She was the first female to be ever elected to the Redevelopment Authority as well as a 6th generation Hullonian. Joan had a passion for politics in her lifetime. She loved life, enjoying cooking, playing cards, going to foxwoods, and always enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Joan was also a 1950 graduate of Hingham High School. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 A.M. on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Hull at 10 A.M. Burial in Hull Village Cemetery, Hull. Memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army 402 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02138 or to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 268 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
