Joan E. Church

Joan Elizabeth (McNeice) Church of Plymouth formerly of South Weymouth, died Friday, February 13 surrounded by her loving family at the Newfield House after a long illness. 

She was the devoted wife of the late Robert W. Church.  Joan was the daughter of the late Gladys (Starratt) and John A. McNeice of Quincy and sister of the late Donald McNeice.  Beloved mother of James Church and his wife Jacqueline of North Easton, Robert Church of South Weymouth, Debra Lynch and her husband Timothy of Mashpee and Donna Coughlin and her husband Philip of Kingston.  Cherished grandmother of Todd, Jared, Amanda, Bryan and Robert Church, Jeffrey and Jackie Lynch, Patrick and Melanie Coughlin.  Loving great grandmother of Rory, Maeve, Patrick and Declan Church.  She is also survived by her brother John McNeice of Canton and Clare McNally of Watertown and many loving nieces and nephews. 

Joan graduated from North Quincy High School Class of 1957.  After raising her 4 children, she worked for a number of years with her husband at Church’s Launders and Cleansers in North Quincy and at Welch Home Care in Norwell.  She lived in South Weymouth for 48 years prior to moving to Newfield House in Plymouth.  She was an avid Boston sports fan and enjoyed cheering for all the teams, especially the Patriots.  She found her most pleasure spending time with her family.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 3-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:30PM.

The Church family would especially like to thank Mr. Geoffrey Stewart and the staff of Newfield House for their loving care of Joan over the past few years. 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Joan’s memory to the Special Olympics Massachusetts 512 Forest Street, Marlborough, MA 01752.
