Lane, Joan D. (Lovewell) of Weymouth, passed away, September 11, 2016.
She was born in Boston, raised in Brookline attending school there, and after college graduation taught in the Framingham schools before returning to Brookline to teach in the same school where she had once been a student. She moved to Weymouth in 1952. Returning to teaching in 1961, she taught at the Nevin School in Weymouth until it closed in 1981 and then taught at the Ralph Talbot School until her retirement in 1993.
Beloved wife of the late William F. Loving mother of Richard D. of North Weymouth and the late William F., Jr.
Her greatest joy was her family followed by her love of teaching. Joan enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling, her bridge club and the Red Sox. Growing up in Brookline, she and her friends would walk to Fenway Park during her high school years, sitting in the bleacher seats for fifty cents, watching their favorite players.
At the family’s request, there will be private burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
