Joan C. Balonis

Joan C. Balonis (Rich), a lifelong resident of Weymouth, died June 11, 2013 at the age of 63.

Joan graduated from Weymouth High School in 1967 and worked at Atlas Alarm in Weymouth, her family’s business. She enjoyed playing Bingo and trips to Foxwoods. Her family will remember her for her thoughtfulness and kind and generous spirit.

Beloved wife of 45 years to John F. Balonis. Daughter of the late Marion M. Rich. Loving mother of Brian Balonis of Whitman, Joanne Balonis of Weymouth, and Jack Balonis of Weymouth. Devoted “Nana” of Taylor, Krystal, Brittany, James, Reanna, Kylee, Ava and Alana. Joan is also survived by her three sisters: Barbara Moran of Holliston, Ann O’Donnell of Weymouth, Marion Siltanen of Hanover and her four brothers: Paul Rich of Hull, Alan Rich of Norwood, Michael Rich and Jack Rich, both of Hanover and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth. Donations in memory of Joan may be made to Hospice of the South Shore, 30 Reservoir Park Dr., Rockland, MA 02370.
