Jill Patricia Paredes, of Weymouth, died peacefully at home on January 31, 2022. She was the wife of the late John J. Paredes. Born in 1930 in Boston, MA to the late Margaret (Lillis) and John J. McKearin, she grew up in Belmont, MA. Jill attended Regis College and graduated from Fontbonne University, St. Louis, MO. After college she married John, the love of her life, initially living in the Midwest for 16 years before returning to the Boston area. Together they raised four children and enjoyed 59 years of marriage, most of that time spent in Hingham, MA.
Jill leaves behind her beloved children, Kearin Lewis (Cohasset, MA), Kevin J Paredes and wife Catherine (Millbrook, NY) and Glenn L Paredes and wife Barbara (Natick, MA), and dear daughter-in-law Jennifer Paredes Bourque. She also leaves behind her adored grand-children, Patrick, Kate, Dan, Suzanne, and Isabelle and four great- grandsons as well as her dear brother Kevin A. McKearin and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband John, Jill was preceded in death by her beloved youngest son, 1st Lt Gregory J. Paredes, her son-in-law Robert W. Lewis, and her dear grandson Brendan Paredes as well as her brothers, Jack and Gerard McKearin.
Jill was a vibrant woman who had a way of making anyone and everyone she encountered feel special. Her caring and compassionate spirit and strong faith combined with her sense of humor and zest for life endeared her to so many. Gathering with friends and family, late night phone conversations, attending classes and presentations at Glastonbury Abbey, playing tennis until she was 80, and routing for all her Boston sport teams were some of her favorite activities. But first and foremost, it was her role as wife, mother, Nana, and Great Nana that mattered most. Our hearts are full of laughter and love.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Monday in St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, Hanover at 11 AM. Burial in will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: 1st Lt Gregory J. Paredes Memorial Award Providence College, 1 Cunningham Square Providence, R.I. 02918-0001. Or to Glastonbury Abbey, 16 Hull Street, Hingham MA 02043.
