It is with a heavy hearts’ that the family of Jessie Mae Barbuto (Warren) announces her peaceful passing at age 94 with family at her side on Saturday October 21, 2023. She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Anthony “Scout” Barbuto.
Jessie was born in Quincy, MA to the late George F. Warren, a boat builder, and the late Margaret Ward, a nurse. The family settled in Scituate MA where Jessie was educated and made many lifelong friends. After high school, she worked at the Scituate Playhouse where she met her husband “Scout”. Jessie’s passion in life was her home and family where she raised her four children, their dogs and ran a busy household. Together Jessie and Scout ran a successful masonry contracting business, Scout was the builder and Jessie managed the office. In her later years, she enjoyed many winters with Scout in their Florida home and traveling up and down the eastern seaboard with their dogs as their faithful companions. The white mountains, Vermont and Maine were also some of her favorite places to visit each year. She enjoyed walking in the local parks with her friends and basset hound Abby, this is where she was most happy. She was well known at Bare Cove, Wampatuck State Park and Worlds End. No type of weather would stop her from her daily walks. All her life Jessie loved where she lived and reminded her children how lucky they were to live so close to the ocean. A perfect day for her was a ride to the Scituate Lighthouse, down Jerusalem road or to the Hull gut. Plymouth harbor was one of her favorite spots for a lobster roll and an ice cream. Jessie will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by many friends, nieces and nephews and her four children and their spouses: Daniel G. Barbuto and Denise (Parker) of Hingham, Mary Margaret Ferguson and husband Stephen of Hollis, NH, Susan Marie Sievers and husband Mark of Norfolk, MA, and Donna Marie Conti and husband Jeffrey of Hingham. She leaves 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday November 7th at 11 AM at St. Ann’s Church in Hull, MA. Burial will be private.
