Dacey, Jeremiah J. “Jerry” of Quincy and Naples, FL, August 8, 2006. Beloved Husband of 35 years of Mary C. (Clifford) Dacey. Brother of Mary Ann Dacey of Franklin and Francis Dacey of Houston, TX. Jerry is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Saturday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Joseph’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 PM. Cremation will follow. Donations in memory of Mr. Dacey may be made to American Red Cross, 285 Columbus Ave., Boston, MA 02116 or to the Quincy Rotary Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 692178, Quincy, MA 02269. Jerry was born in Detroit and his family moved to Franklin, MA when he was an infant. He attended grammar school in Franklin and graduated from Franklin High School. Jerry graduated from Boston College class of 1952. He joined the Army and served as a Sgt. in the Korean conflict. Upon his discharge he joined with his uncle to start Dacey Brothers Dairy Stores which were located in Eastern Massachusetts area. The chain was sold in 1985 after 30 years in business. Jerry then became employed with the Colonial Federal Savings Bank in Quincy in charge of promotion and retired in 2001. Jerry also held a part time sales position with Brooks Brothers clothing store in Boston from 1985 until 1995. Keenly interested in sports, Mr. Dacey was a member of the Polecat Ski Club in North Conway, NH. Mr. Dacey held season tickets to the Boston Celtics, Boston College Football and the Boston Red Sox. He served on the Board of Directors of the BoSox Club. Jerry was an avid tennis player at the Weymouth Club. He was also a member of the Franklin Knights of Columbus. Jerry served on the Board of Directors for the following organizations: The Hingham Community Center, American Red Cross South Area and Catholic Charities. He was active in the Boston College Alumni Association by serving in fund raising and student interviews. He was also the producer of the Boston showing of “Legends”. His favorite organization was the Quincy Rotary Club which he joined in 1972. He later became President in 1980 & 1981. He was honored by the club with a Paul Harris Fellow Award and later served the district by chairing the Polio Plus Program which was successful in sending vaccine to third world countries.
