Jennifer Marie Flatley of Waltham, died unexpectedly on August 17, 2021, she was 44. The beloved wife of 11 years to Ian Schmitz of Waltham. Cherished daughter of Mary (Keating) Flatley of Hingham and the late Ambrose Flatley. Devoted sister of John Flatley and his wife Meghan of Wayland, Maura King and her husband Michael of North Attleboro and Trish Moran and her husband Justin of Scituate. Loving aunt of Ronan and Emmet Flatley, Nolan King, Cullen, Alexis and Catherine Moran. Loving niece of John, Michael, Laurence and Patrick Keating all of Ireland and Helena Cryan of North Attleboro. Daughter in law of the late Paul and Barbara Schmitz. Sister in law of Tammy and her husband Bud Vanstone of Wisconsin and Jeremyn Paul Schmitz of Texas. Jennifer also leaves behind many cousins in the US and Ireland.
Jen was born and raised in Hingham, MA. In her early years Jen had a love and passion for Irish Step Dancing. She excelled and went on to receive many awards at competitions throughout the state of Massachusetts. Jen attended Hingham High and went on to Boston College to further her education. After graduating from Boston College she started her career at Frictionless Commerce in Cambridge MA. Soon after she decided to move to Chicago to be with her best friend Shannon and her sister Trish. There she went on to start a career at Kraft Foods where she excelled and was selected for a company wide alignment to SAP. In Chicago she met her future husband Ian. After they were married they decided to move back to Massachusetts to be close to Jen’s family. Here Jen and Ian went on to purchase their first house together. Jen worked hard to make it over to their own with the help of her brother John. Jen loved her Beagle pooches Molly Rose and Milo Silver. Jen looked forward to her yearly visits with Ian and her Mom, Mary, to Ireland to stay connected with family.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visitation on Thursday morning August 26, from 9 – 10:30 AM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 11 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to MSPCA, Attn: Donation, 350 S. Huntington Ave., Jamaica Plain, MA 02130 or to The Celiac Disease Foundation, 20350 Ventura Blvd., Suite 240, Woodland Hills, CA 91364.
