Jeffrey R. Edgar

Jeffrey Robert Edgar, an engineering recruiter, formerly of Weymouth, died unexpectedly on September 13, 2015 at the age of 36.

Jeffery is survived by his mother, Jeanne Harris (Welsford) and stepfather Neil Harris of Mashpee; his daughter Kaylee Hanson Edgar of Rockland; brother Chip Edgar of Fitchburg; sister Keri Condos and husband Matthew of Tolland, CT; his nephew Matthew Edgar of Weymouth; nieces Julia, Emma and Grace Condos and Avery Edgar; along with many other family members and cousins who will miss him dearly.  He had a special bond with his Auntie Judy and Uncle John Croci. He is in heaven being held tightly by his grandparents, who loved him immensely, and who will continue to watch over him. 

Jeffrey was born in Quincy  on October 12, 1978.  He graduated from Weymouth High School in 1997 and worked as a recruiter for various companies.  On August 1, 2007, he welcomed the light of his life, Kaylee, into the world.  Anyone who knew Jeff knows that the sun rose and set on his little girl.  Everything he did, he did for her.  Jeffrey was a devoted father, brother and son, who couldn’t go a day without talking to his mom.  

Jeff loved the beach during the summer, spending time with his friends and family, and, of course, eating 2 lb. lobsters.  He enjoyed reading, skiing, golfing and spending as much time on Cape Cod as he could.  His “larger than life” personality and presence will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him. 

Everyone who knows Jeff,  knew he struggled most of his life with addiction. It was so important for him to have a greater impact on others and be there to support and encourage fellow addicts. It is a disease that affects so many people and families and he understood it all too well.  If Jeffrey could pass along any message right now it would be to learn that help is available and not to wait. Time is a precious thing and can be taken away too soon. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A funeral service will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 AM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main St. (Rt. 18 opp. South Shore Hospital), Weymouth.
