Jeannette C. Richards

Jeannette C. (Richardson) Richards of Hingham, formerly of North Weymouth, died peacefully on January 20, 2024 with her family by her side at the age of 95.

Jeannette was born in New York to the late Samuel and Jeanette Richardson and raised in Connecticut where she met her husband, Gordon. In Connecticut she worked as a saleswoman in G. Fox and Company and later worked at Travelers Insurance. They later married and moved to Boston where she worked as a bookkeeper for Shiffman’s. Jeannette loved animals and enjoyed knitting, singing, home decorating, and most of all, reading.

Before entering memory care she sang with the Linden Ponds choir. She loved ‘spur of the moment’ trips with Dad throughout New England visiting her Mom and sisters in Connecticut and spending time in New Hampshire and Maine with friends and family. Family was everything to Jeannette and her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the center of her life.

She was the beloved wife of the late Gordon “Bob” Richards. Loving mother of Gary G Richards of VT, Karen D. Paulsen and her husband Glenn of Braintree and Leslie Jones of Roslindale and her friend Paul MacDonald.

Proud “Mamay” to Brian and Laura Richards of VT; Melinda (Richards) and Vincent Poeta of IL; Mark and Tracy Paulsen of Hanover; Michael and Amanda Paulsen of Hanover; Alan Paulsen and Ashley Higgins of Weymouth; Adam Jones of Cambridge; and all of her great grandchildren. Loving sister of Fay Menchel and her husband Seymour of CT, the late June Brown and her late husband Kenneth, and the late Samuel Richardson. Sister in law of Jacqueline Kish. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Saturday 1/27/24 from 10AM-12PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street(corner of Charles & Middle Street). Funeral service to follow in the funeral home at noon. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
