Jeanne O’Rourke, 84, of Weymouth, MA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, November 2, 2023. 

Jeanne was born on November 20th, 1938, in Boston, MA, to Roy and Mary Samms. Jeanne had three sisters, Kathleen Odone, Ruth Wood, and Kathleen McMurtery. She attended Nazareth High School in South Boston. 

Jeanne met her husband Patrick O’Rourke of Hyde Park, MA and they were married in 1961 and had a beautiful, loving marriage of 49 years. Jeanne and Patrick went on to raise their six children, Patrick O’Rourke, Mary O’Rourke, Danny O’Rourke, Terry O’Rourke, Peter O’Rourke, and Thom O’Rourke in Weymouth, MA. Jeanne also had 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Jeanne worked for over 35 years at Carney Hospital as a nurse. She attended Laboure College in Boston, MA to obtain her nursing degree. 

Jeanne was an avid reader and knitter. She enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening, beekeeping, and horseback riding. She also spent many years in a bowling league with her husband and friends. 

Jeanne will be missed dearly by her friends and family. 

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 20th, at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Jerome’s Church at 632 Bridge St, North Weymouth, MA.
