Jean R. Leavitt

Jean R. (Caputi) Leavitt of Plymouth, formerly of Port Orange, FL and Hingham, died March 19, 2019 at the age of 80.

Jean grew up in Haverhill where she was a former “Miss Haverhill”. She was a breast cancer survivor for 23 years and founded several support groups for cancer survivors and cancer care patients in both Florida and Massachusetts. While living in Florida, she began her own business, “Near To You”, offering transitional support to women following breast surgery. Upon returning to Massachusetts, Jean spent 9 devoted years working at the Cancer Care Boutique at South Shore Hospital. She was an avid ballroom dancer. Faith and family were the focus of her life. She will be remembered for her strength and compassion. Jean lived her life to the fullest with passion and grace.

Beloved wife of the late Robert A. Leavitt. Devoted and loving mother of Brian R. Leavitt and his wife Michelle of Plymouth. Proud and loving “Noni” of Emma Grace Leavitt. Sister of the late Robert J. Caputi. Aunt of Cindy Smalley of Haverhill.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:45 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Hanover at 10 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.
