Jean P. Doherty

Doherty, Jean P. of The Villages, Florida, peacefully passed away, surrounded by her family, on February 20, 2024 at the age of 77.

Born in Jamaica Plain , she was the daughter of Irish immigrants, Philip and Mary Ann Doherty.

Loving mother to Jean McElroy and her husband Marty of Georgia, Bree LaBollita and her husband David of Canton, and Kathleen Shanteler and her husband Kevin of Rockland. Cherished grandmother to Gabrielle Paulsen, Chloe Paulsen, Ryan McElroy, Amanda McElroy, Jacob LaBollita, Lucas LaBollita, Daniel LaBollita, Sydney Shanteler, and Jack Shanteler. Sister to Eileen McColgan, Anne Mahoney (James), Cathleen Harney (John), and Elizabeth Poleet (Julia), and her beloved dog Brady.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday from 5-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean’s name may be made to an animal shelter of one’s choice.
