Jean M. Runge

Runge, Jean M. (Grant) of Quincy, died on August 29, 2013. The beloved wife of the late Lester D. Runge. Loving mother of Elaine Souza and her husband William of Newport, RI, Denise Mulcahy and her husband Jeremiah and  Stephen Runge all of Quincy ,  Lesley Pollara and her husband Ron of Hingham. Sister of the late Patricia McGuire and Marie Grant. Cherished grandmother of Cara, Jeremiah, Christopher, Jeanette, Brendan, Brandon and Bryan. Jean is also survived by her 3 great grandchildren.

Jean worked as a training instructor for AT& T for many years. She enjoyed staying active by playing volleyball and bowling well into her 70’s. She also found great enjoyment in music and dancing. Jean took great pride in her appearance, she was a meticulous dresser. The essence of her life was her family. Jean will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who brought grace and style to the lives she touched, so characteristically of the way she lived her life, she was a true lady. She will be sadly missed by all those who were blessed to have known her. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston. Donations in memory of Jean may be made to Kennedy Senior Center, 440 East Squantum Street, Quincy, MA 02171.
