Jean F. Scarpelli

Scarpelli, Jean F. (Murphy) of Weymouth, died January 2, 2015.

Jean was raised and educated in Jamaica Plain and has lived in Weymouth for over 65 years. She was a longtime employee of the Patriot Ledger Newspaper. In the early 1970’s, she was an Assistant Girl Scout Leader and later a member of the St. Jerome Women’s Guild. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles and vacationing on Mousam Lake in Maine. Jean’s family, especially her grandchildren, were the foundation of her happiness.

Beloved wife of the late William B. Scarpelli. Devoted mother of the late Doric Scarpelli and his wife Judith of Plymouth, Robert Scarpelli and his wife Sandy of ME, Susan Byron and her husband David of Duxbury, Judith Barsamian and her husband Paul of Weymouth, John Scarpelli and his wife Steva of ME and William Scarpelli and his wife Jeanne of Hanover. Cherished “Grammie” of 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Loving sister of the late Charles and John Murphy, Evelyn Lawson and Edith Arthur. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off RT.3A-Bicknell Sq.)  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30 AM Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial in Old North Cemetery, Weymouth.
