 Jean B. Crowley of East Bridgewater formerly of Randolph and West Quincy passed away on February 7, 2014 at the age of 86.

Mrs. Crowley is survived by her children, Richard Schatzl and his wife Lori of Merrimack, N.H., Dana Schatzl of Avon and Kimberlee (Schatzl) Sheehan and her husband Robert of East Bridgewater. She was also the mother of the late Alan Schatzl. She is survived by her grandchildren, Adam Sheehan of East Bridgewater, Stephen Schatzl of Merrimack, N.H. and Kathryn DiTullio and her husband Robert, of Nashua, N.H. She was the wife of the late William Crowley and Francis Schatzl. She was the daughter of the late Alice Hartford and sister of the late Marjorie Bailey and  Dorothy Draper.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Jean was born in Weymouth, and attended Weymouth Public Schools.  From the age of 14, Jean was an active member of the Weymouth #18 Order of Rainbow Girls.  After graduating from Weymouth High School in 1945 she enrolled in the U.S. Cadet Nurse program at Quincy City Hospital.  This program was initiated to provide nurses for the military during World War II. In 1945 the  program providing 80% of the nursing staff in civilian hospitals.  After Graduation on August 14, 1948 as a Registered Nurse, Jean worked at Quincy City Hospital for  4 years. She then worked at Milton Hospital for 25 years in various specialties.  She retired from Milton Hospital in 1984. Jean loved nursing and loved going to work as a nurse every day. 

Jean loved people and doing things to help others.  She especially loved spending time with her family and friends.  Jean had many friends and maintained many close friendships with her nursing classmates and friends especially Doris, Esther, Louise Jean Mac and Betty. They were a great support system to Jean especially during her failing health. 

Jean loved to travel, and went on many trips and cruises. She especially enjoyed her yearly trips to Aruba. She enjoyed playing cards and going on the Casino trips by bus with her friend Jean MacDonald. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital)  Funeral services will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.
