Halvorson, Jay C. of Quincy, formerly of Lakeland, Florida died July 12, 2013. Loving father of Jennifer Halvorson of Quincy and Jill  Halvorson and her fiancée Ronald P. Logan III of Hanson. Former husband of  Patricia Halvorson of Quincy. Brother of Vance Halvorson of Illinois and Kim Halvorson of Florida.  Cherished grandpa of Abigal Logan.

 

Jay worked as a self employed carpenter for 34 years. Carpentry and working hard was a passion for him.  He was a life member of the USS Saratoga Association and a Member of the Carpenters Union in Weymouth.   Jay was and avid fisherman and boater.  He also enjoyed camping, puzzles, art and was an amazing cook.  Most of all Jay loved his family and spending time with his granddaughter Abigail.  He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him. Jay proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.

 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.
