Collins, Janice R. (McLellan), age 70, of Rockland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 28, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Janice was being cared for at Wingate Nursing Home in Kingston.
Janice was the daughter of Ruth McLellan and John McLellan of Jamaica Plain. Janice is survived by her (4) children, Kimberly Collins of Rockland, Kerri Collins and her husband Bill Hollis of Plymouth, Edward Collins of Rockland, and Scott Collins and his wife Jessica of Bridgewater, sister Marie Maloney, brothers Jack & Robert McLellan, nephew Darryl McLellan and (9) grandchildren.
Janice was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Jamaica Plain and worked directly out of school for John Hancock Financial in Boston. Janice went on to become a US Postal Mail Carrier in Abington where she worked for 22 years, retiring in 2009. Janice loved spending her time with family and friends and was a lifelong devoted fan of Elvis Presley. Her beautiful life will be forever remembered and cherished in the hearts of all who knew Janice.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
Donations in memory of Janice may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
