Janice M. Schuerch

Schuerch, Janice M. (Balfe) of Quincy, age 82 died Suddenly of natural causes on August 30, 2016.  

Born in Cambridge, MA on August 31, 1933, into a loving family to John and Dorothy Balfe.  Loving sister of Joe Balfe and the late Jack and Joanne.  Janice was a graduate of Regis College.  While summering in Houghs Neck, she met and married Peter Schuerch.  Beloved mother of MaryJane, Kathy, Jeanne, Tricia, Janice, Peter and their spouses Keith, Billy, Phil, Kevin & Maryann.  Grammy Loved all of her 16 grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Billy IV, Jacob, Jonathan, Jacqueline, Jenna, C.J., Josiah, Elijah, Victoria, Vianna, Peter, Joel, Patrick, Kerilynn and her 6 great grandchildren Layla, Michael, Lillian, William, Roy and Claire.  

She was devoted to her loving family and cherished spending time with each and every one of them.  Janice taught at Quincy Public Schools and was dedicated to educating and enriching the lives of all her students throughout her career.  Continuing with Lexington Insurance Company which began her passion for world travel.  Retiring at the age of 74, she was able to enjoy leisurely time with her family.  Shopping was one of her true passions and her winter months in Florida.  Janice was a loving, caring and generous mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt & friend who will be sadly missed by all.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Quincy at 10 AM.  Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victoria Schuerch Memorial Foundation at Quincy Credit Union.
