Janice E. Piccarini

PICCARINI, Janice E., 73 of Weymouth, passed peacefully on May 10, 2024 surrounded by family and friends after a fiercely-fought battle with cancer.  She joins her son, Michael, and first husband, Richard, who passed before her in 2004 and 1999, respectively.  

Jan was the life of the party, texted with the frequency of a 16-year old, and had an infectious laugh that could be heard far and wide.  She passionately loved her family and friends; spending time at her vacation home in Laconia, NH; and telling everyone about the manhole cover in front of Gate C at Fenway Park that is named in memory of her son, Michael, which reads “Piccarini Boston – 2004 – A New Beginning.” 

Jan was born on February 13, 1951 in Brighton to John and Alma (DiSciullo) Creeth, Jr. She graduated from North Quincy High School in 1968 and Katherine Gibbs Business School. She spent her career working as an officer manager – a.k.a.: The Unofficial Boss.  

Jan leaves behind her daughter, Danielle, and her husband, Brian Cerroni, of Plainville; her husband, Alan Smith; his children, Alan Jr. and Vanessa Smith, and grandson, Maverick, all of Enfield, CT; brother John Creeth, III and his wife, Sandy, of Wilmington, MA; several nieces and nephews; several cousins; and her 25-year old grandfish, Fishy. 

To honor a woman with a big personality and celebrate a life well-lived, we invite family and friends to wear happy colors. Visiting hours will be held at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, 809 Main Street, South Weymouth, on Wednesday, May 15 from 4–8 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 720 Broad Street, Weymouth, on Thursday, May 16, at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Make-a-Wish America.
