Janet Mccann

Janet T. (Weeber) McCann, a former long time resident of Hough’s Neck, passed away in Wolfeboro, NH on Tuesday November 6, 2012. She was 83 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Harold J. McCann. Loving mother of Richard J. McCann and his wife Phyllis of Moultonboro, NH and Maureen C. McCann and her husband Stephen Marden of Wolfeboro. Proud and cherished grandmother of Abigail McCann of Orlando, FL. and Catherine McCann of Moultonboro, NH. Born in Boston, Jan was raised and educated in Boston graduating from Roslindale High School in 1946. She had lived in the Hough’s Neck section of Quincy since 1954 before moving to Wolfeboro to be close to her family. She was a retired office manager for Riley and Reilly Insurance Co. in Quincy. Jan was awarded the Distinguished Senior Good Neighbor Award from the Hough’s Neck Community Council. Jan was very involved at the Most Blessed Sacrament Church including Our Ladies Sodality, Catholic Daughters of America and the CCD programs. She also volunteered at the South Shore Center for the Blind in Quincy. She was also very active during elections at the Atherton Hough Elementary School. Jan will be remembered as a devoted wife, a cherished mother and loving grandmother and caring friend who will be sadly missed by all those who were blessed to have known her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy on Monday 4-8pm Funeral from the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 9am to be followed by a Funeral Mass in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Hough’s Neck at 10am.
