Janet L. (Hakanson) Jepson

Janet L. (Hakanson) Jepson, of Hull, passed away in her home suddenly on March 29, 2024.

Born March 30, 1952 to Dorothy and Elmore Hakanson in Woburn, MA. An inspiring woman who attended Lasell Junior College for her associate’s degree, and then attended Washington University where she got her occupational therapy degree soon after. A real trailblazer, she worked many different jobs throughout her life, touching everyone who worked with her and her can-do and charismatic attitude. In 1995 she adopted a child, and formed a very special, strong bond over many years with them. Jan will be remembered for her love of the ocean, where she would spend many days walking the beach, enjoying the breeze and scenery, as well as for her love of animals and children, which the echoes of said love can be felt through everyone’s lives who knew her. Finally, Jan was shoulder to cry on, a rock to hold onto, and above all else a friend to those who knew her.

She is survived by Haley Jepson and their partner, Andrew Lorusso of Somerville.

Beloved sister of Eric C. Hakanson and his wife, Sandi of Booth Bay, Maine.

Beloved aunt of Eric Hakanson and his wife, Meghan, of Belmont.

Long time dear and best friends April and John Leahy of Denver, CO, and Lorna and Jim Dembinski of Wallingford, CT.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Saturday, April 13th from  11AM- 2PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square).”
