Jane L. Wallace

Jane grew up in Dorchester and was the youngest of nine children of Italian immigrant parents from Italy and Switzerland.  Jane enjoyed working at Gillette for many years before marrying Peter (her “partner in crime”).  She and Peter spent their early married life in Jamaica Plain before moving to Quincy to raise their family.  She was extremely creative and loved working with her hands.  She always had one project or another going on, whether it was sewing clothes and curtains, making rugs, refinishing furniture, or making wreaths, needlepoint projects, and the many baby sweaters which were a favorite gift of hers.

She appreciated the neighborhood wildlife, and enjoyed feeding whatever would come to visit – animal or human.  Jane enjoyed playing card games, reading, and watching Boston sports.  Jane always had a twinkle in her eye, a lovely smile across her face and an easy laugh on her lips; she will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

Beloved wife of the late Peter J. Wallace.  Devoted and loving mother of Daniel J. Wallace of Quincy and Dianne M. Handrahan and her husband Thomas of East Bridgewater. Cherished Mimi of James W. Handrahan of East Bridgewater.  Caring sister of the late Nilda Rice, Silvio Bernasconi, Mary Barry, Irene McCollem, Virginia Wilkie, Joseph Bernasconi, Victor Bernasconi and Margaret Bernasconi.  Also survived by over 30 nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
