Jane Aileen (Damon) McAndrews, 76, of Weymouth, passed away at home lovingly surrounded by family and friends on July 22, 2023 after a long illness.
Born in Dorchester in 1946, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Aileen (Corey) Damon. Early in her life she relocated to Weymouth, and it is here that she raised her family and lived out her life.
Jane made friends easily, and many of these friendships spanned decades. She had a very generous heart and cared deeply for all those she knew. She was affectionate and kind with a great sense of humor. She was always quick to lend a helping hand, and always knew when you needed words of encouragement, a smile, and a hug. She was a big New England Patriots fan and seldom missed a game. Although at times in her life she had sorrow, she was strong and found joy and happiness in family and friends. She enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, Foxwood’s, playing bingo, dining out, shopping, and getting together for many years with friends to play weekend card games. But above all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren. Her family meant everything to her, and to her family, she was everything.
Former wife of Robert McAndrews. Loving companion to Steve Lazzaro of Weymouth. Cherished mother to Susan M. Goode and her husband Gary of Hanson, Carol A. Shannon and her husband Arthur of Scituate, and Gregory A. McAndrews and his wife Keri of Dracut. Nana to Garrett Goode, Melissa Shannon, Lindsey Goode and Madeline Shannon. Sister to Charleen Phillips of Hull, the late Hilton Crimmings, the late Roy Damon, and the late Lawrence Damon. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, and her life-long cherished friend, Anne Marie Fortey.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday July 27, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Cremation and private burial to follow.
