James William O’Toole

James (Jimmy) William O’Toole of Quincy passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, July 9, 2022.  He was 48 years young.

Beloved husband of 20 years to Kara (Sullivan) O’Toole of Quincy. Devoted father to Kaycee, Karaline, Shamus, and Kate. Cherished son of Jim and Patti O’Toole of Quincy and son in law of Jean Kenney and Bill Crowley of Quincy, Jim Sullivan of Naples, Florida, and Diane and Tony DeLauro of Clearwater, Florida. Loving brother of Kerrin Ehrlich and her husband Peter of Milton, Lisa Gott of Marshfield, Sean O’Toole and his wife Renee of Quincy and brother in law of Dawn Sullivan of Houston, Texas. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, especially his closest friends the Laforest and Grady families.

Jimmy’s spirit was strong, and attitude impressive throughout his hard-fought battle with cancer. He was a longtime Quincy resident (Wollaston, North Quincy, Houghs Neck) and 26 year Verizon union employee; Local 2222. Jimmy’s family was his greatest joy. He loved cheering his kids in the hockey rinks, and on the lacrosse fields and volleyball courts. He proudly renovated their family home and his carpentry talents were honed during 5 years in the Carpenters Union Local 67 and a lifetime apprenticeship under his father’s watchful eye. A movie aficionado, Jimmy could quote all the one liners, name the actors and could never be stumped. Some of the best family memories are the many trips, local and abroad, especially the times on the ski slopes that would always include Jimmy leading a dance party. Jimmy will be remembered for his smile and wit that could light up the room.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So.
