Fay, James W. of Braintree, formerly of Quincy, died on December 07, 2010 at the age of 94. Beloved husband of the late Eugenia L. “Gina” Fay. Devoted father of Teresa Kenney and her husband Robert of Braintree, Sheila McSweeney and her husband John of Canton, Kathleen Fay of Braintree, James Fay and his wife Karen of Quincy, Mary Fay and her husband David Cohen of Braintree and the late Bonnie Gatewood. Cherished grandfather of 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. James was a longtime Quincy resident before moving to Braintree. He graduated from North Quincy High School and Boston College. Mr. Fay proudly served in the U.S Army Air Force during WWII. He worked as a Police Officer for the Quincy Police Department for 40 years, retiring as a Lieutenant in 1980. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Wednesday 4 – 7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:15AM on Thursday, prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth Landing at 11 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of James may be made to Friends of the Brockton Multi Services, 165 Quincy Street, Brockton, Ma 02302.
