James P. Ryan

James P. Ryan of Hingham, passed away on  November 26, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.

Jim worked for 33 years at the Charlestown Navy Yard as a welder. An avid boater, he was a member of the Town River Yacht Club in Quincy for 46 years. Jim proudly served as a veteran during the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force, where he received 2 bronze stars and several citations. 

Beloved husband of  Geraldine L. (Marr) Ryan. Loving father of James Ryan and his wife, Margaret, of Haverhill, and the late Thomas E. Ryan, and his wife Mary of HIngham. Brother of Elizabeth Ney of Uxbridge, Carol Costa, of Blackstone, Paul Ryan of Roslindale, and the late David Ryan, Robert Ryan, and Gertrude Vacca. Grandfather of Amanda, Stephen, and Matthew. Great Grandfather of James. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was loved and admired by all he met and ever present with a helping hand.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
