O’Connor, James of Quincy, age 99, March 17, 2009. Former husband of Hilda O’Connor. Loving companion of Ann Curley. Devoted father of Sally O’Connor of Brighton, Susan O’Connor of Nashville and Robert O’Connor of Boston. Cherished grandfather of Anne Oppenheimer. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. James was born in Newton and grew up in both Newton and Brighton. He has resided in Quincy since 1960. Mr. O’Connor served in the United States Army during WWII and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was also a retired Boston Police Officer. Jim enjoyed jogging and most recently, dancing. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation in Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, Friday from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 2:45 PM. Donations in memory of Mr. O’Connor may be made to MSPCA 350 S. Huntington Ave. Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
