O’Brien, James of Weymouth, died September 23, 2014.
Beloved husband of the late Sandra (Curran) O’Brien. Devoted father of Maureen Roy and her husband Jeffrey of Franklin, James O’Brien of Weymouth, Kathleen Gallo and her husband James of Winthrop, William O’Brien and his longtime companion Cathy Marsters of Weymouth. Brother of Marilyn McCarthy of Quincy and the late Ronald and John O”Brien. Brother in law of Sharon O’Brien of Oklahoma. Loving grandfather of Andrew O’Brien, Alicia Roy, Natalie Roy, Jeffrey Roy, Amanda Gallo, Matthew Gallo, Anthony Gallo, Renee O’Brien, Denise O’Brien, James O’Brien and Christopher O’Brien. James is also lovingly survived by several nieces and nephews.
James was raised and educated in Dorchester. He was a graduate of English High School. He worked as a welder at TRW Corp. in Cambridge for 35 years before retiring. James was an avid Boston sports fan. He will be remembered by his family as a private person who loved his family above anything else and cherished spending time with his grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:45am Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 11:30 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
