James Mulkern

Mulkern, James of Rockland, formerly of Quincy, died on Sunday, September 19, 2010 surrounded by his family. Beloved husband for 50 years of Mary M. Mulkern. Devoted father of James Mulkern of Quincy, Maureen and her husband Mario Nardiello of Weymouth, Peggie and her husband John Ryan of Braintree, Eileen and her husband Mike Curran of Hanover, John Mulkern and his wife Michele of Weymouth, and Veronica Mulkern of Dorchester. Cherished Papa of James, Michaela, and Victoria Nardiello, Samantha Geddry, Michael and Ava Curran, Macy Mae and John J. Mulkern, Jr. Loving brother of John Mulkern of Walpole, Patrick and Joseph Mulkern both of Ireland and the late Mary O’Sullivan, Bridget Conley, Michael, Thomas, Morgan and Nora Mulkern. Mr. Mulkern came over from County Galway, Ireland in 1954. He worked as a carpenter before joining Local 223. James was a proud member of Union Local 223. He loved gardening and doing lawn work , he also liked following baseball. James enjoyed building and fixing homes, but his focus in life was his family. He will be remembered as a strong, quiet, caring, humble man who devoted his life to raising his family. They will be forever grateful for all the blessings he brought into their lives. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Wednesday 4-8pm in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, 757 Hancock Street, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
