James T. "Macca" McTiernan of Brighton, formerly of Quincy, died January 6, 2025. The beloved husband of Loretta (Peters) (Oliva) McTiernan of Brighton. Step father of Carmine J. Oliva and his wife Pamela of Dallas TX and their family Samantha and C.J and grandson Declan. Loving brother of Marlene Edelson of Braintree and the late John "Spanky" McTiernan, QPD. and Carmen Zanghi. Macca is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many dear and cherished friends.
Macca was a truly special person. A fabulous chef with a gift for bringing people together, not just through his cooking but through the friendships he nurtured over time, many of his friendship lasted decades. He could have taught a master class on how to treat people. His love for his family was the foundation of all his relationships, creating a legacy of warmth and connection. To know Macca was to love Macca, he was truly a gentleman who valued the people in his life, he had a gift of making people feel special. Macca was truly a blessing to all who were lucky to have known him. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday January 16, 2025 from 2-6 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Followed by a Celebration of his life that will begin on Thursday at 6 PM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Macca may be made to The Quincy Police Benevolent Mutual Aid Association,1 Sea Street, Quincy, MA 02169 att: Lauren Lambert and or the Alzheimers Assn., MA Chapter, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
