James M. Collins

Collins, James M. of Quincy, died June 7, 2015. 

A resident of Quincy for 45 years, Jim loved working on home projects, movies, and playing with his grandchildren. In his work with Payette Associates for 30 years, his love was to mentor the younger employees in architecture. Some of his  favorite projects included work on the Mass General Hospital and Duke University. He was a member of the Amvets in Dorchester and the McKeon Post. Being a veteran of the Air Force, Mr. Collins will receive Military Honors at Blue Hill Cemetery. 

Beloved husband of Kathleen M. “Honey” Collins of Quincy. Loving father of Michelle M. Duane and her husband David of Quincy, James M. Collins Jr. and his wife Marianne of Quincy, Matthew J. Collins  and his wife Laura of South Weymouth, Daniel J. Collins and his wife Kate of Hanover. Brother of Thomas P. Collins of Walpole and Mary Schroeder of Roslindale. Grandfather of Alex and Jared Duane, Olivia and Molly Collins, Matty and Maia Collins, and Bryan, Ronan, and Gweneth Collins. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 AM Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
