James M. Carter

Carter, James M. of Quincy, passed away January 14, 2013.

Beloved husband of the late JoAnne I. (Schauer).  Loving father of Maureen (Ridge) Sweeney and her husband, Daniel, of Abington, Michael J. Carter and his wife, Joan, of California, formerly of Halifax, and the late James M. Carter, Jr. Brother of Bernadine Reilly of Framingham, Denise Duval of Quincy and the late Esther Butler and Joseph Carter, Jr. Grandfather of Breandan and Daniel Carter, Morgan and Madison Sweeney and the late Brianna and Rebecca Sweeney.

Born in Quincy, JIm had worked for Boston Edison for 42 years before his retirement in 1999. Mr. carter was very proud of his military service with the United States Navy and was honorably discharged after serving on the USS Bennington.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 3-6pm in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.  Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday morning at 11:30 AM.  Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
