Briana, James “Jimmy B” “Sonny” of Quincy, July 27, 2007. The beloved husband of Virginia R. (Shea) Briana of Quincy. Father of Susan Booth of Grafton, John Hartling of Litchfield, NH, Brian Hartling of Springfield, Maureen Riley of Milton, Diana Doucette of East Boston, James Briana of NH and Stephen Briana of Revere. Brother of Anne Straccia of Revere and Helen Curtin of East Boston. Jimmy B. is also survived by 9 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Wednesday at 8 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy at 9 AM. Visiting hours Tuesday 4- 8 PM. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jimmy B. may be made to the Veterans Homeless Shelter, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108. Proud Korean War Veteran, United States Army. James Joseph Briana was born in Chelsea and grew up in East Boston. He served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1955 and achieved the rank of Corporal. He was honored with a national defense medal, a Korean service medal as well as an U. N. medal. Jimmy worked for the South Postal Annex in South Boston for 28 years retiring back in 1998. Jimmy was in the American Postal Workers Union, AFL-CIO Boston Metro Local which he was a stewart and Past President. In addition to his postal career, Jimmy worked many years in construction with various companies. Jimmy B was a member of the D.A.V. in Squantum and a member of the VFW in Beechmont (Revere) . He was a very proud veteran and proud union man, he was always concerned about others. “Jimmy B ” as everyone called him was described as “one in a million” he would go out of his way to stop and speak to everyone; a kind, funny, friendly , gentle man. He was an avid Patriots fan and enjoyed cooking. He was adored by his wife Virginia. He will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowning him. Rest in Peace, Jimmy B.
