James J. Rabbitt

Rabbitt, James J. of Pembroke, formerly of Quincy, died July 18, 2018.

Loving father of Anne Marie Rabbitt of Quincy, Claire Errico and her husband James of NH, and James F. Rabbitt and his fiancé Michelle Paone of Burlington.  Devoted grandfather of Shawn, Jenn and Kevin Rabbitt and Nicholas and Christina Errico.  Cherished son of the late Peter and Julia Rabbitt.  Brother of Mary Rabbitt, Lillian Bowser and the late Joan Carreira, Barbara Howard, Robert and Kevin Rabbitt.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

James was a United States Navy Veteran who proudly served during WWII.  He worked as a truck mechanic for the Boston Globe for many years.  James was a long-time volunteer for the Boston Police Stress Unit.  His main passion in life was his family, especially his grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Pa”.  His life’s focus was on making sure he met the needs of his family no matter what.  James will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday July 22nd from 4-8 PM, at Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY and Monday at 9:45 AM prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
