O’Brien, James Joseph, “Jim”, 76, of Carver, lifelong resident of Dorchester (St. Mark’s Parish) passed away peacefully May 7, 2015.
Loving husband of the late Barbara (Jakubiak) O’Brien. Loving father of James O’Brien of E. Bridgewater, Denise Travis & her husband Stephen of S. Weymouth, and Colleen McLoughlin & her husband James of Bedford, NH. Cherished grandfather of Colleen & Courtney Travis and Barbara & Sarah O’Brien. Son of the late James O’Brien of County Cork and Celia (Prendergast) O’Brien of County Mayo. Dear brother of the late Eileen “Dolly” (O’Brien) Pollock. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, and great nieces & great nephews.
Retired foreman from Greyhound Bus Lines, known to all as “OBIE”. Jim honorably served his country in the United States Navy aboard the Destroyer USS Manley.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Monday 4-8PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home South Weymouth 809 Main Street (Rt 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home 10AM Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass at St Francis Xavier at 11AM. Burial in New Calvary Cemetery, Boston.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s memory to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
