James J. Mcmanus

McManus, James J. of Quincy, died on Friday, January 07, 2011. The beloved husband of the late Margaret (Roach) McManus. Cherished father of James M. McManus of Bedford, William & Joseph McManus of Quincy and Patricia Sheldone of Quincy. Brother of Joan Roach of NY, Marie McGuirk of Ohio, Charles McManus of FL and Jack McManus of AR. Devoted grandfather of Jacoall, Kristina, Elizabeth, Joanne, Anthony, Tyler and Attillio. James was born in Boston and raised in Dorchester. He was a proud Air Force Korean War Veteran. Mr. McManus worked as a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed boating, fishing and playing pool. A member of the Quincy Elks , he also belonged to the American Pool Players Association. The focus of his life was his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Mr. McManus helped raised his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Wednesday, 4 -8 pm in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 :15AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
