MANNING, JAMES J. “Jim” of Stoneham, formerly of Allston, died January 18, 2014.

Jim served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. For 47 years, he worked as a pressman for the Boston Globe and was a member of Boston Newspaper Printing Pressmen’s Union #3.

Loving father of Edward F. Manning and wife Cynthia of Ipswich, Ann Lalime of Weymouth, David J. Manning of Weymouth, and Eric M. Manning and wife Brenda of Watertown. Loving companion of the late Ann “Nancy” McCarthy, formerly of Cambridge, and her daughter, Geraldine McCarthy and granddaughter, Ashley McCarthy, both of Haverhill. Brother of Rita Kelly, Theresa Kelliher both of West Roxbury, Barbara Roche of Mansfield and the late Thomas Manning, Mary Cox and Margaret Brown. Loving grandfather of Garrett, Kristen, Brian and Peter.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday from 9:30-11:30 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off RT.3A-Bicknell Sq.) prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 12 PM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at a later date.

Donations in memory of Jim may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of New England, 540 Gallivan Blvd., Boston, MA 02124.
